We Are The Experts At Turning High Ceilings Into New Rooms
In many homes in Southern California there is often times an open space that was originally designed between the first and second floors. This is referred to as "open to below" on most blue prints. From the first floor it is a high ceiling referred to as a volume ceiling or a vaulted ceiling on floor plans. This is the space we have been custom crafting new loft additions for decades. It’s our niche and we are the state wide experts for this type of mezzanine room design and construction.
There is a roof over your head and a foundation already under your feet so adding a new room is cost effective. As simple as it may sound this is NOT a job for a handyman or even an experienced general contractor. This is a unique space that requires a specialist. Architectural blending and structural retrofitting are two critical skills that must be mastered. The high level of expert craftsmanship required is normally not needed in a traditional style home addition or remodel.
Watch for our project photos - before, design, and after shots showing progressions in our huge high ceiling conversion gallery. Check out the loft addition gallery here. With over 3,200 project photos in just our loft addition gallery alone.
Often called an “inside addition” you can gain valuable living space without changing the footprint of your home. This makes the project HOA friendly (homeowner association).
Room Types Keep in mind that even though we often call these projects loft additions the new room does not have to be merely an open loft. We fill in the high ceiling to create enclosed bonus rooms, bedroom additions wit closets, bathrooms, laundry room, home theater, home office addition, game room and others. Sometimes the homeowner will request that we convert the entire space and add a new master bedroom walk in closet on the second floor. Whether a home library, nursery for a new born member of the family, or just an open tech center/study area, we are the best in the business at adding this type of space.
